Goldankauf. Das Kollektiv
“Goldankauf. Das Kollektiv ” is an art project by the mexican duo Helena Hernández & Alejandra Baltazares. Based in Berlin, the artists came together after the urge to express themselves through art and against the extrem violence occuring everyday in Mexico. They quickly found common elements in their works and began a series of collaborations after dropping by chance into a suspicious tiny shop in Wedding from where they took the name for their collective.
Based on a selected analogue photo collection from the shop, they have produced various works together and in collaboration with swiss artist Rafael Koller. Their work has been published by i-D and Vice magazines in their Mexican and German editions and have participated for the last two years at Salón ACME as part of the Art Week in Mexico city. Some of the works produced under the collective are: “One minute porn sculptures” exhibited at Somos Arts during the Berlin Porn Film Festival; “Go Vegan” a publication with recipes, photos and illustrarions by Helena and Rafael and the "Ruf mich an" art zine by Alejandra based on amateur pictures of bondage girls.
The work of both artists has been exhibited internationally and awarded by important competitions and institutions such as Jungkunst, Winterthur, Switzerland and the Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst in Germany.

Porn is a construction supposedly intended to satisfy our deepest desires. But what is the sense of only “watching porn“? It has been said that, men usually find pleasure by observing but women reflect themselves in the character. Are these fake-scenarios a faithful result of what comes out from our own fantasies but moral prejudices and social decency does not allow them to be public? What would happen when the stage is set up for us and we are invited to recreate the scene?
With the very characteristic sense of humor of previous works from our collective, One minute Porn Sculptures consists in a playful stage set up for the visitors to make their costume paradises. Based on a selected analogue porn collection by the artists collective, each of the pictures reconstructs a specific situation in a manner of sexual parody of “Erwin Wurm´s one minute sculptures".
As in the porn industry, where any film, any cartoon, any situation of the common life can be turn into a sexual parody, we present an ephemeral installation where the spectator is invited to embody specific fantasies in her or his very own way with the help from the original photos and manuals with illustrations. Documentation is captured by the participants through their smartphones and shared via hashtag as a transformation of the analogue materials beyond digital: social media.
