About
Alejandra Baltazares' works explores the ideals through which we imagine ourselves and the world around us. Whether examining representations of the body or our surroundings, she reflects on beauty, cultural identity, memory, and impermanence through layered surfaces and subtle shifts between harmony and unease.
In her recent work, Baltazares approaches landscape as an imagined space, shaped by memory, longing and imagination. Through idealized environments and subtle disruptions, Baltazares questions the ways we construct, perceive, and inhabit the places around us.
