"What you are doing is not important. What is really important is the state of mind from which you do it."
According to the Cambridge dictionary, reconciliation may be defined as “the process of making two opposite beliefs, ideas, or situations agree”.
And what is that if not to unite? One of the concepts that for me has been key in defining, understanding and applying yoga in my life is to be in balance. Understanding balance as the perfect union between mind, spirit and body.
Yoga has been action and stillness, balance and flexibility of the body but above all of the mind: Being open to constant change and other ways of conceiving the world. It has taught me when to let go and surrender but to get back up and try one more time.
Having said that, I would define yoga as the perfect union of The Self in the here and now.
Art is a way to speak about the world around me, while yoga is a goal but also the path and the process of reconciliation towards it.
As a long time practitioner, my classes are focused on continuous movement through breath work and dynamic strong sequences in order to reach a moving meditation practice.
My personal goal as a visual artist is to bring together my greatest passions in order to encourage creativity and body awareness by uniting the artistic process with the practice of yoga. I currently teach in German, English and Spanish.
